Why you need Detroit Pistons streaming

Trevor about being a fan of the Detroit Pistons since the 80's:

People often find it odd when I tell them that I am a fan of the Detroit Pistons. After all I was born and raised in California. When I was growing up all my friends supported the Lakers and I often watched Lakers games with them, but for some reason I have always liked the Pistons far more. It began in the 1980's when I watched them lose a game. There was nothing extraordinary about the game but for some reason I kept watching the Pistons and have ever since.

I chose them as my team back then and they will always be my team. At the start of the eighties the team was terrible, they went on a losing streak which was an NBA record at that time. The fortunes changed though when we drafted Isiah Thomas, a talented young point guard who was the number 2 pick in the draft that year. He was teamed up with Vinnie Johnson and Bill Laimbeer and the core of a strong team was built. These three stayed with the Pistons for over a decade and quickly improved the fortunes of the team.

Halfway thru the eighties Dennis Rodman was also added to the line up and we had a great team who played brash, dominating basketball which lead to us being nicknamed the bad boys. This amazing decade ended with back to back NBA Championship wins in 1989 and 1990. In that time I was glad that I have chosen the Pistons ten years earlier. I often was criticized by Lakers fans during this time who wrongly assumed I had switched teams when the Pistons won the Championships but me and my friends knew that I began supporting the team when they were the worst in NBA history. I don't know why I chose the Pistons but I am glad I did and wouldn't swap them for any other team.
