When Glenn Robinson was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 1994, the Bucks were in a free fall. They had finished with losing records each of the previous three years. They took Robinson with the first pick in 1994, hoping he could turn the franchise around.

It took a few years for Robinson to be able to the get the Bucks back to their old winning ways. He began contributing statistically right away, however, averaging 21.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in his rookie season. He came in third in the Rookie of the Year voting, but only because his incoming NBA class included future superstars Grant Hill and Jason Kidd. Robinson averaged over 20 points each of his first four seasons.

It wasn't until his fifth season that he would finally lead Milwaukee back into the playoffs. A lot of this had to do with the arrival of new coach George Karl, who helped organize the team and institute a winning attitude. They lost in the first round, but it would prove to be important playoff experience for the years to come. In 1999-2000, the Bucks made the playoffs again only to lose in the first round.

2000-2001 would be Robinson's finest year for winning. He led the Bucks to a 52-30 record, which allowed them to finish in first place in their division. In the playoffs they defeated Orlando 3-1, then went on to beat Charlotte in a 7-game series, 4-3. They played another rigorous seven games against Philadelphia in the Conference Finals, and lost 4-3.

Robinson would play one more season with the Bucks after that, then would become something of a journeyman before retiring after the 2004-2005 season. In Milwaukee Bucks history, Robinson only trails Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in number of points scored. He averaged at least 20 points in seven of his eight seasons in Milwaukee, and helped the Bucks become a relevant NBA contender once again.
