Why you need New Orleans Hornets streaming

Joe about his team, the New Orleans Hornets:

Living in 'The Big Easy', I'm blessed with Music, night clubs, a slow, simple and easy-going life and of course a healthy dose of Chris Paul and Hoops. The New Orleans Hornets, as I know them now were part of 1988 NBA Expansion Draft and the franchise was called Charlotte Hornets, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, where they were located for 14 seasons. George Shinn brought the expansion team to Charlotte and named it "Hornets" due to the city's fierce and stinging resistance to British occupation during the Revolutionary War. When I see the Hornets History, they look a bit of journey team, to have bolted from Charlotte due to ownership issues and then had to relocate temporarily again due to the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina at New Orleans.

I see the team in three different scenarios - pre-New Orleans days at Charlotte, Katrina days and the present Chris Paul era. The three periods were quite different from each other in terms of team building and victories. During the Charlotte era, Shinn and the team was adored initially by the Hoops crazy city and sold out 358 consecutive games - almost through nine consecutive seasons. The team had limited success first, but after Alonzo Mourning, Larry Johnson, Glen Rice and later Divac joined the team, their winning percentage moved up and made to the playoff in most years.

I feel the team was personally distracted due to the controversies surrounding Shinn, the rape case, the eventual reasons why he traded Alonzo, and whether he really committed to building a winning team. The City Council at Charlotte clashed with the ownership and NBA failed to step in at the right time. Relocation from Charlotte became imminent, and Shinn silently moved the team to the New Orleans Arena and became the 'New Orleans Hornets' in 2001. David West was drafted in the 2003 draft. In 2004 the team finished with a franchise-worst record of 18-64 and older veterans like Baron Davis and Jamal Mashburn traded away to start the rebuilding process. After three quite seasons in New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina compelled the franchise to temporarily relocate their base of operations to Oklahoma City, where they played two seasons as the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. The Hornets returned to New Orleans for full-time from the 2007-08 season.

Chris Paul was selected 4th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by New Orleans, and that's when I started to look up at this team. He went on to become the NBA Rookie of the Year (2006), a four-time All-Star, and a multiple All-NBA and All-Defensive team honoree. The 2008 NBA All-Star Game gave a good fillip to our Hoops emotions at The Big Easy. Under Paul, Hornets won a record of 56-26 in regular season that year and won our first-ever Southwest division title. We also tasted the first Playoff victory in 2008 but the Hornets have only had moderate success since then. Low attendance at home games is also a big concern.
