Why you need a San Antonio Spurs live stream

Tim Duncan was dreaming of becoming a professional swimmer for the United States team before he discovered that he can also play the game of basketball. As a kid, Tim was already a standout swimmer and was eyed to be one of the youngest new swimmers on the Olympic team of America. However, things changed when a hurricane destroyed the only pool in Tim's hometown Saint Croix, which is one of the islands of the United States Virgin Islands. To add insult to injury, Tim's mother died of breast cancer: this made a young Tim Duncan depressed and yet determined to finish college in order to achieve his mother's last wish.

To lighten things up, his brother-in-law encouraged Tim to play basketball because of his height. Thinking that it might be the way to get rid of his depression, he started playing basketball in his 9th grade and was soon dominating the boards. Wake Forest got interested in this young teenager and decided to "train" him further as a power forward. It appears that Tim is a quick learner as he began swatting away blocks, forcing opponents to shoot outside with a lower percentage. He was already being offered a number one draft spot in the NBA, but Tim made it a priority to finish college and graduated with a degree in Psychology.

After finishing college, Tim Duncan then went into the NBA and was still a number one draft pick. It was in this period where I personally got to see him play: he and then Spurs captain David Robinson were considered the "twin towers" at that time and gave the Spurs a big lift from being a team with poor standings (Robinson was sidelined with injuries the previous season) to NBA champions. Yup, he didn't only help the Spurs enter the playoffs, but he helped them become champions. Awards came flooding on him as he became Rookie of the Year, NBA All-Defensive team, and so on.

Tim went on to lead the Spurs as their team captain. His efforts keep on bringing the Spurs as regular playoff contenders, making them still one of the strong teams in the west from the time he played as a power forward for the Spurs till the time he retires (probably).

Who knows? Maybe after he retires from a very successful NBA career, he'll go back to swimming again.
