In 2010 Ndamukong Suh was drafted number two overall by the Detroit Lions. His rookie season with the Lions was a very impressive one. He picked up a large number of awards and media recognition for his excellent performances. He weighs 300lb and measures 6 foot 4 inch and is also very athletic.

In 2010 Suh was selected for the Pro Bowl, becoming the first Detroit Lions rookie to be given that honor for a number of years. Unfortunately, in the end Suh was not able to make the game due to a shoulder injury. Other awards and recognition Suh attracted as a result of his excellent debut season included the Pro Football Writers Association of Americas Rookie of the Year award, the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year, The Sporting News Rookie of the Year and selection in the All Pro Team.

Suh is a gifted and athletic defensive tackle. He is a relentless hard worker in training and on the field. He has a fearless and committed style of play which endeared him to the Lions Fans quickly. His aggression did not endear him to fellow players though. In 2011 he was named the dirtiest player in the NFL by players in a poll carried out by Sporting News. Suh is a player you want on your side rather than lining up against you.

His college career was a successful one. He lined up for Nebraska and showed his excellent promise very quickly. In 2009 Suh won a number of prestigious awards which identified him as one of the best, if not the best defensive player in college football. He won the AP Player of the Year in 2009, he was the first defensive player in history to win that award. After leaving Nebraska Suh showed his appreciation to the University with a donation of a massive $2.6million. The largest single donation by any former player.
