Will about his favorite player of the Houston Texans:
Quarterback Matt Schaub began his career as a professional in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons. He played 6 games in his first season followed by five in the next. He started only one game for the Falcons. The highlight of his time with the Falcons was his impressive MVP performance in Tokyo in the American Bowl preseason game where he impressed greatly. His time at the Falcons never really lived up to his high expectations as he was not given an extended run in the starting Quarterback position to prove his worth.
Schaub was traded to the Houston Texans who immediately demonstrated their faith in him by releasing David Carr, leaving the way clear for Schaub to become their regular starter. Schaub repaid the Texans with some great performances. Most of his early seasons with the Texans were slightly spoiled by various injuries at some point in the season but whilst playing Schaub has proven his quality for the team.
In 2009 he got the better of his injury troubles and lead the team to a 9-7 season, the first winning season in the franchise's short history. In this excellent season Schaub lead the league in passing yards, with an impressive 4770 yards, completions with 396 and attempts with 583. His yards per game were also the best in the league with an average of 298.
This impressive form continued in 2010, he posted impressive figures again and fell just 3 yards short of a 500 yard game which has only been achieved by eleven Quarterbacks in NFL history.
Schaub also broke a number of records during his college career at Virginia. He left college with 22 school records including a record 7502 passing yards, 56 touchdown passes and 716 completions. He also set a record for Quarterback games with 40 and was one of the most accurate passers in college football with a .670 completion rate. Click here to learn more about football streaming.
