Maurice Jones-Drew is an outstanding Running Back who plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He began to build an impressive reputation during his time at De La Salle High School in California. In his time at De La Salle the team never lost a single game due in part to the excellent performances of Jones-Drew over 3 seasons.

He played as both a Running Back for the offense and a Line Backer for the defense. The team were ranked as the number one in the country at this time. After a stellar time as a high school player Jones-Drew received several offers to play college football. He eventually decided to attend the University of California in Los Angeles. Whilst at UCLA he impressed for the Bruins. He set an all time NCAA record for single season yards per return with 28.5. He also broke several UCLA records including single game yards with 322 against Washington. He also set the record for touchdowns in the same game with 5.

He was drafted by the Jaguars in 2006 in the second round. He has since established himself as a top NFL performer over several seasons. His rookie season was impressive, he ran 2250 all purpose yards which was a Jaguars record. He was also hugely impressive in the 2009 and 2010 seasons. He won Pro Bowl selection in both these seasons and was named as the NFL Alumni Running Back Player of the Year.

This excellent 2010 season was made even more impressive when it became known that he played the entire season with a torn meniscus in his left knee. He was aware of the injury but played on despite the pain. The injury was kept secret from the opposition and media to avoid opposition players from attempting to take advantage of the injury and potentially making it worse by targeting the injured knee.
