Growing up in Chicago, I knew that I would end up being a Bears fan, but it was certainly hard seeing them lose almost every year. Though I was very excited to watch them play on a weekly basis, I did not become a big fan until the late 90's. I am now a huge fan and continue to watch the games live. Last season was actually a very good season and after a miserable year the season before that, Bears fans were certainly pleased with the team's performance. As I continue to go to Soldier field, I still remember how last year went.

As the team was first place in the NFC north with an 11-5 season, the NFL was certainly surprised at how well the team did. As Lovie Smith led the team to 11 wins, Bears fans knew that it was Jay Cutle who really led the way. After the Bears won the first 3 games in the season, the fans were sure that this was going to be a great season and when they finally suffered their first loss against the Giants, it was still fairly optimistic in Chicago. The Bears came back and beat the Panthers the next week and this was what ultimately turned the season around.

The Bears won in the divisional playoffs but fell short against the Green Bay Packers as they lost 21-14. Though the team did not make it to the Super Bowl, Bears fans were very supportive and realized that their team has come a long way. Julius Peppers, Lance Briggs, Brian Urlacher and Davin Hester were selected into the Pro Bowl and it certainly was a great season for them. The Chicago Bears are getting ready for next season and hopefully they will be able to learn from this season and take it farther next year.
