The Detroit Red Wings is hailed as the most successful team in NHL during the past two decades. I admit I wasn't a Red Wings fan before but after seeing the magical flare of the players, as well as the tremendous support of the fans during every game, I wanted to join the sea of Red as well. Playing their 85th season for the NHL during the 2010-11 season, the Red Wings set an impressive record to guarantee the top seed on the Central Division. The team set their sea of fans in red screaming with 47 games, 25 losses and 10 OT losses to wrap up the Divisions conference. They were the only team in their division to finish with 100 plus points, 104 to be exact. Their record for the 2010-2011 season carried them to as high as the third spot in the Western Conference, with the Canucks and Sharks on top of the standing.

With talented players such as Brian Rafalski, Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Lidstrom, the Red Wings were able to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs and brushed away the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-0, during the Quarterfinals. During the semi-final, the Detroit Red Wings played an intense match against San Jose Sharks but lost the series, three games to four.
