Growing up in Pittsburgh has always made it easy for me to be a Penguins fan and it was truly nice to watch this dynasty grow. The team however is really a league favorite and they are one of the better known organizations in the league. I am happy to say that I am a big Penguins fan and they are certainly one of the best teams in the league. I was able to watch most of their games all throughout the season and they are certainly getting better. The Penguins ended the season 49-25-8 record and this was good enough for them to be in 2nd place in the Atlantic division. The Philadelphia Flyers was the only team to have a better record and the Penguins were in 4th place in the Eastern Division. Sidney Crosby was the captain of the team and he was certainly able to lead the team towards the end of the season to be able to make the playoffs.

Head Coach Dan Bylsma was able to really put together a solid squad of players that really want to get better. This team went through a lot of ups and downs this season but they have certainly been able to keep things going to get a playoff berth.

They started the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Lightning and they were knocked out right away in seven games. This was a very exciting series and people certainly thought the Penguins had what it takes to win the series outright. Unfortunately things did not go well and the season ended before they were able to really shine in the playoffs. Though the season ended in disappointment, Penguins fans were still happy with how well the team played and how much better they got as a unit. The Pittsburgh Penguins will certainly be ready in the future.
