I have been watching the Vancouver Canucks play for years now and this season was arguably one of their best. I grew up playing hockey and so it was normal for me to root for the local team. Most of my friends and family members knew that I loved the Canucks and so they would often get me tickets to their games whenever it was my birthday. I was able to watch a few games this year but I was able to watch all of their games on TV. Though the season ended in heartbreak, the season was certainly still successful.

The Canucks had the best season in the NHL and it was truly a team effort. With a 54-19-9 record, the Canucks were focused on winning the championship. Analysts were predicting that no team can really keep up with the Canucks and it was certainly proving to be the case during the season. The Canucks were equally as good on the road compared to their home record as they had 27 wins apiece.

Alain Vigneault was able to put together a great cast of talent as Daniel Sedin Ryan Kesler had 41 goals apiece throughout the season. The supporting cast was also very strong as the Canucks were able to score 117 points which is an NHL record.

The team was able to be the best team in the West and so they were certainly going to be in the playoffs. They first faced the Chicago Blackhawks in a very competitive series but the Canucks came out on top in 7 games. They then faced the Predators and won easily in 6 games. The Canucks then had to face the San Jose Sharks in the Western division championship and won in dominating fashion in 5 games. The season then came down to the Stanley Cup finals where they faced the Bruins. They lost in 7 games but many will say that this was one of the most exciting finals ever.
