Timothy about his favorite player of the Buffalo Sabres:

As a big Buffalo Sabres fan, there is no reason why you would not be a big Hasek fan. He was the face of the franchise and still continues to have a big impact on the franchise. As a Hall Of Famer, he spent 9 seasons in Buffalo and certainly made sure that he made every year count. He was one of the most talented players in the league and was certainly an inspiration for most fans and even other players in the league. He was traded to Buffalo from Chicago in 1992 and he wore the famous number 39.

He was actually the backup goaltender at first but he was able to develop into their top goaltender. It was in 1994 where he was able to start winning awards like the Yezina Trophy and almost winning the MVP. He would continue his hot streak by winning the Yezina Trophy again in 1995.

The nice thing about Hasek's career was that he was very consistent. However, during the 1996 season, he started to have some trouble with the head coach Ted Nolan. This caused a lot of problem in the locker room and I still remember how Hasek pulled himself out of one of the playoff games that they had against the Ottawa Senators.

He would then go on to play even more games in 1997 where he played in 72. He broke the team record with 13 shutouts in the season and 6 of them in one month, which tied the NHL record. He was able to win the HArt Trophy again and was the first goalie to win that award twice.

Hasek will always go down as one of the toughest and smartest goalies of all time and it was such a pleasure to watch him all throughout his career as he led the team to shutouts on a daily basis.
