Why you should watch Carolina Hurricanes online

Xavier about his favorite player of the Carolina Hurricanes:

Rod Brind'Amour was the Carolina Hurricanes' team captain for 5 years and he was certainly a big reason behind the team's success. Growing up as a Hurricanes fan was tough as the team tended to struggle throughout their seasons. It wasn't until Amour came where I was able to really enjoy my time with the team. I would watch their games on a nightly basis as Amour would work with players like Keith Primeau and Pelletier.

His best and most memorable year was in 2006 where he was able to win his only Stanley Cup. Though he had a shot in 2002, it was in 2006 where everything just clicked. It was the "BBC Line" that led the team towards success. This line included Brind'Amour, Battaglia and Cole.

The team was able to beat the talented Edmonton Oilers and they won in seven games. He was then signed to play 5 more years for the Hurricanes as he was the current team captain. During that same season, he was able to achieve individual awards like scoring his 1000th career point and his 400th goal in 2007.

His career started to end in 2008 when he tore his ACL but he was still able to return in 2008. He was able to still play 80 games and scored 16 goals with 35 assists. The team was still able to make it to the Eastern Conference finals but ended up losing. He was then replaced as the team captain in 2010 by Eric Staal but Amour is still considered one of the best captains that the team has ever had.

Amour's career may not be as a popular compared to other big time players but he certainly had a big impact on the Carolina community. He will surely go down as one of the best players to ever go through the Carolina Hurricanes organization over the past few decades.
