Why you should watch Minnesota Wild online

Minnesota Wild, a hockey team founded in 2000, had trouble finding good players in their beginning seasons. The team drafted Nick Schultz in the second round of the NHL draft to play for their first season. Schultz is a native Canadian and had played minor hockey in Strasbourg as well as playing for the Prince Albert Raiders in the Western Hockey League.

In his time with the Raiders, Schultz was named the top defenseman and the most improved player. Although new to the NHL world, the Minnesota Wild selected him and he served as the team captain for the 2000 season. Scoring 17 goals and 30 assists, Schultz was one of the team's most valuable players and an asset to the beginning team.

Schultz is known for always looking towards the next game. After the Wild's season had ended, Schultz decided to join the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. His career in hockey was also international and Schultz played in the Canada Winter Games of 1999. A strong player and dependable part of the Minnesota Wild, hopes are high for Schultz and his hockey career.

Schultz's family life prepared him well to play for the Minnesota Wild. He grew up in Saskatchewan and played hockey with his two brothers Kris and Terrance. Kris went on to play professional hockey as well as his cousin who played for the Vancouver Canucks before joining Schultz with the Minnesota Wild. Still attached to his native home, Schultz spends his off-season time in Calgary with his wife and children.

Schultz is a player who proves that hockey is in the blood. Growing up, he jokes that he could skate before he could walk and hockey is always on the mind. While the Minnesota Wild did not have a championship beginning, hopes are high for the team and Schultz.
